  • How do I place an order?

Hay must be purchased in advance to reserve your supply until it can be loaded and shipped.  Payment must be made in the form of cash, certified or personal check.  All checks must clear the bank before hay will be loaded on the truck.  Give us a call to start the order process.  We email or fax you a simple order form and work out most of the details during the first phone call.

How long will it take between placing an order and receiving shipment?

Generally, checks will clear within 7 days.  Once you have placed an order, we will start the process of lining up a truck for your shipment.  Pick up dates can vary due to loading schedules and weather conditions.  We work with our customers schedules to try to ensure that hay is delivered on your preferred dates.  This can change based on weather, road closures and truck break downs.  You will be notified in the event of any delays to your shipment.

Why is payment in full expected when hay is ordered?

Due to an increased demand for hay and our farmer's policies, we have had to start receiving payment in full before hay can be ordered.  Demand has caused farmers to sell on a purely first come, first served basis.  Payment in full ensures that your hay is not sold to someone else and that it will be available when the truck comes to pick it up.

I'm concerned about sending so much money to someone I don't know, what can you tell me about that?

We greatly value our reputation and want satisfied customers that will buy hay from us for many years to come.  We work hard to make sure you are happy with your purchase and that everything takes place in a timely manner.  We also have references available and are happy to provide them upon request.

I'm only familiar with coastal hay, why is that not readily available on your site?

Most of our hay comes from Colorado.  Coastal is not usually grown there and there are other grasses that handle the temperature changes and growing conditions much better.  Grasses such as brome, orchard and timothy are commonly grown in Colorado and are more suited to the environment.  You can learn more about types of hay on our Hay Info Page.
